2nd. Floor – Nuclear Gamma Camera

Provided architectural and structural design services, along with construction services, to renovate an area for the installation of a nuclear gamma camera. The work included all required construction work, including demolition of the existing space, installation of lead shielding, and mechanical & electrical systems. Structural steel beams were installed under the floor to support the weight of the new imaging equipment. The areas under this floor space (directly downstairs) were active patient exam rooms, so all structural support work, which included the steel beams, was in the ceiling space above these exam rooms, and therefore needed to be completed over a three (3) day holiday weekend so not to interfere with patient activity.
